This year, we will have one week of camp, the first week LAUSD Winter Break.
P• GIFT MAKING BONANZA: Batik Art, Metal Embossing crafts, ,Midge Podge Gifts,
Cooking Gifts, and Spa Baskets
Camp days start at 9:00am and end at 3:00pm
Gift/Craft Making Bonanza
Make gifts for the whole family! These camps are a big hit every year! All gifts will be wrapped in paper and tags we make ourselves.
Dec. 18-22, Monday-Friday 9:00-3:00, $90.00 a day
Class size -12-14 students, Grades –Kinder-7th
Dec. 18, Mon. - Batik Art - Use wax and fabric dye to create a string of “prayer” flags and decorative kitchen towels. Ornament making will round off the day.
Dec. 19, Tues.- Metal Embossing Craft- Using heavy gauge aluminum foil (easy to cut and safe) we will learn to emboss and color the foil to fashion earrings, ornaments, and mirrors. Next, we will construct a set of gift cards using natural materials.
Dec. 20, Wed.- Modge Podge Gifts – Using decorative art tissue we will modge podge boxes, tile coasters, earrings, and frames to make perfect gifts. To fill the frames, we will use paint to create a unique art piece.
Dec, 21, Thurs. Spa Day Baskets – We will make bath bombs, scented salts, candles holders, scented candles, and gift cards and arrange them in a lovely basket to give as gifts or to share.
Dec. 22, Friday - Cooking – Explore the baker in you and make yummy cookies, hand pies, breads, snack balls, and a jar of cookie mix – and arrange it all in a festive basket. We get hungry, so hopefully some will survive to be given as gifts!
9:00-9:45 - Morning Meeting, games, demonstrations
9:45-10:30 - Activity relating to the theme
10:30-11:00 - Snack (brought from home) and free time
11:00-12:00 - Activity relating to the theme
12:00–12:45 - Lunch (brought from home) and active games
1:00-2:30 - Art Activity
2:30- 3:00 - Closing circle
Blue House Arts Winter Camp is dedicated to helping children express themselves through art in order to reach their creative potential. Taught by Ellen Gill, a Credentialed Elementary School Teacher, who has 30 years experience as a children’s theater teacher, actress, singer, and classroom teacher. Ellen believes in creating a neighborhood feel and a sense of community with each camp, where active play and social opportunities are included in the schedule. Classes are held at her home at 3670 Wade St. LA, 90066. There is a large back and side yard with a simple stage and curtain. The yard has ample shade, tables, and an inside work area.

Blue House Arts reserves the right to cancel class if enrollment is below 8 campers per session. In this case, Blue House Arts will refund payment in full.
Full payment for the camp will reserve a space for your child.
