SUMMER CAMP

SESSION 1: June 11-15 (Monday-Friday)
MUSICAL THEATER

Do you like Greek Myths about kings, princesses, magic, and a monster with the head of a bull and a body of a man? Do you like to sing and dance?  Then Theseus and the Minotaur is the musical for you!  Together we will construct the props, scenery, and costumes.  Our show will be on Friday at 3:00.

SESSION 2: JUNE 18-22 (Monday-Friday)
PIRATE COMEDY CAMP

NEW SHOW!  ARRGGHH! Who doesn’t want to be a pirate?  In this camp, everyone is a pirate.  Yes, there are girl pirates too!  We will perform a silly and zany English version of Treasure Island.  The show will include pirate jokes and skits.  The performance will be on Friday at 3:00.

MUSICAL THEATER

Back by popular demand! For all of you fans out there, Harry Potter and the Obnoxious Voice will be the play this week.  This spoof has all the familiar characters including house elves.  I have also added a few songs. Together we will construct the props, scenery, and costumes. Our exciting show will be performed on Friday at 3:00.

MUSICAL THEATER

We will be performing a musical version of the classic fairytale The Emperor’s New ClothesThis is an ensemble show with good parts for everyone. Together we will construct the props, scenery, and costumes. Our show will be performed on Friday at 3:00.

SESSION 5: JULY 16-20 (Monday-Friday)
COMEDY CAMP
- $300.00
Do you like to make people laugh?  Acting Funny is a collection of comedy sketches I have gathered from far and wide. They are sure to tickle your funny bone. Budding comedians will learn how to do physical comedy, create characters, and
deliver jokes using comedic timing.  For inspiration, they will view video clips from the masters of comedy. The week culminates with classic comedy skits and jokes. 
The show will be on Friday at 3:00.

Activities for Extended Hours will include arts and crafts, games, and use of play structure.

9:00-9:45 Morning Meeting, theater games, improvisation, and warm-ups
9:45-10:30 Rehearsal I
10:30-11:00 Snack (brought from home) and free time
11:00-12:00 Rehearsal II
12:00–12:45 Lunch (brought from home) and free time
12:45-2:00 Construct scenery, props, and costumes  
2:00- 3:00 Pool, slippy slide, free time, and closing circle

Blue House Arts Summer Camp for 7 years has been dedicated to helping children express themselves through art in order to reach their creative potential. Created and taught by Ellen Gill, a Credentialed Elementary School Teacher, who has 35 years experience as a children’s theater teacher, actress, singer, and classroom teacher. Classes are held at her home in Mar Vista. There is a large back, side, and front yard. The backyard has ample shade, tables, chairs, and an inside art studio.
